Holy Week

My mom and dad flew in for the Holy Week and Jack’s graduation. As with family gatherings, I knew it was going to be both fun and hectic.

Thurs Apr 21 – My dad wanted to go to SM Mall of Asia but it turned out to be closed. So we just went to the bayside and mingled with the crowd waiting for a cenaculo. We had dinner at Dad and Mom’s Family Restaurant. It was overflowing with seafood. So much for abstinence. But it sure tasted great!
Fri Apr 22 – We had an afternoon picnic at the UP Sunken Garden. While there, we bumped into an old neighbor Ian and his family. Afterwards, we had dinner at Blackbeard’s Seafood Island at Eastwood. It was seafood again but at more modest quantities.
Sat Apr 23 – We learned Yvette was about to give birth so Michelle, Jeanne, and I went the Chinese General Hospital where she was confined. We arrived just as she underwent a CS. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see baby Chloe as viewings were limited. Afterwards we joined the rest of the family for dinner at Zhu at Global City.
Sun Apr 24 – While Michelle went back to Chinese General to visit Yvette and baby Chloe, we had lunch at James’ place. James ordered Dear Darla, Yellow Cab’s version of the panizza. Afterwards we went to S&R where we had snacks/dinner and did some groceries.
Mon Apr 25 –  We went to Los Banos. Traffic was horrible at Calamba and Los Banos. They really should improve the national highway. We stayed at Trace Suites which were quite good accommodations, most definitely the best in Los Banos. Right after we checked-in, everyone except Michelle, who had to finish up work, went to a tribute to graduates and their parents. I later went back to the hotel with Jeanne to pick up Michelle for dinner at Mio Cucina. Then it was back to link up with the others before going back to the hotel.
Tue Apr 26 – Jack’s Graduation Day. We had brunch at the hotel then proceeded to UPLB. The crowd was immense. And it was so hot! The sole 7-11 store was swamped. But it didn’t stop us from getting Slurpees. It never tasted so good! As we were not staying the night, Elwyna, Michelle, Jeanne, and I left early to avoid the traffic. We were home in about 2 hours.

And thus went our Holy Week.

  1. I’m on fire, in agony. I like your brother, Jack, so much – and he doesn’t know anything about it, or does he?
