2012-02-11 Vieux Chalet, Antipolo

We got together with some friends at Vieux Chalet. As usual, the rustic ambiance and the city view was great. And as usual, Rico and the staff were also great. They even did a dance number. The food was just good. I had ordered Cannelloni, Fettuccine Alfredo, Pizza de la Casa, and Pizza Napoli (anyone notice how all of these seem Italian?) and though they were individually quite delicious, I inadvertently ended up with a very anti-South Beach (still remember that?) carbo-loaded menu. Still, the night went well and it was great seeing and being with friends. Thanks everyone!

McDo Burger and Fries

This morning, Jeanne wanted to go to the parking building with me but it was raining. I convinced her to stay in the house by promising to bring her burger and fries when I get back. She relented so this afternoon, I brought her burger and fries:

And here she is with them:

On Top Of Fettuccine

Michelle cooked up a wonderful dinner of fettuccine with tomato sauce and meatballs. All covered with cheese. Unfortunately, we had run out of parmesan so we we had to make do with grated cheddar. Yum!

Mothers’ Day French Toast

Happy Mothers’ Day! It’s the day for mommies so I cooked up a special breakfast: French toast with syrup, Vienna sausages, Moka coffee for myself, and orange juice for Jeanne and Michelle who don’t drink coffee. Yummy!

4 slices loaf bread
2 eggs
Pancake syrup

To make the batter, beat the eggs in a bowl in a until smooth. Some people would add flavorers here such as milk and cinnamon but since it’s me, you can expect a simplified version :P Put a pan or skillet in low to medium heat and add a slice of butter. Spread thoroughly. For each slice for loaf, dip each side in the batter. Immediately put in the pan and brown each side. Serve with syrup and Vienna sausages.
