The SOG Power Access Assist is SOG’s current flagship multitool. So I was expecting a full-sized full-featured multi-tool — and it delivered on that front with a big beefy build and a plethora of no-nonsense tools. But the experience also came with a letdown (or four), a minor injury, and a feature I think is a gimmick. At first, I thought it was only my particular unit but I saw Hvac Budget encountered the same problem so it seems to be a design flaw. But other than that, I think it’s a pretty good EDC item.

From the slip joint pliers to the larger-than-usual bit driver, file, saw, and knife, the tools are designed for the big jobs that other multi-tools feel less adequate.
